Surgery Scheduled for Tuesday Sept 16. 7:30 AM

Sunday at noon, Uncle Chris and Aunt Windy will be leaving to take Mommy and Daddy to Baltimore MD to Johns Hopkins Hospital. He has the pre-0p testing and meets with the surgeon most of the day Monday. His surgery is scheduled for Tuesday morning at 7:30.

The picture above is of the actual surgeon doing the same Whipple procedure that he will do on daddy. He has done more Whipple operations than any other person in the world. Since it is a very long and delicate surgery, we are glad that daddy has the best.

Daddy has gradually been gaining strength and his appetite has been coming back. His pain medication helps him function alot better than he was a few weeks ago, and he is more like himself.

We can't tell you how much so many of you have been such a blessing to us in so many ways. Remember us in your prayers Tuesday morning and on into the afternoon.

I pray for a safe trip and that your family and father will be able to feel a peace and God's love through this difficult time.

May GOD keep you safe. But I dont understand why anyone would want to go for major surgury without getting a second opinion. Especially when it is being done at a teaching hospital.

Anonymous from Central PA - thank you for your concern. As for a second opinion, we have heard from several in the medical profession. My father's cousin is a leading surgeon in ME, who agrees with our decision, along with others in the medical field. We have heard many extremely good reports, and they say Johns Hopkins is the best in the country. The surgeon that will be doing it is one of the best in the world - he has done more than any other person, and we believe our father is in good hands. I would really appreciate it if you would keep us in prayer, as I'm sure you will. We are doing what we believe is best, and so I ask that you rest with that and trust God with us.

Praying much for all of you during this most difficult time. I believe Doug will have the best care possible, and the very best physicians ~ the one doing the surgery, plus the Greatest Physician of all, Who will be guiding the earthly one. Great pix of you girls with your dad!

You will be in out prayers that God will give wisdom to the surgeon and that you will feel Him next to you as well. Trust all goes well and that they will find out what is going on.
