Canfield Detective Agency's March Meeting

This month we were very privileged to have a special guest speaker come and give a presentation on latent fingerprinting and lifting. Chief Mark A. Spawn from the Fulton Police Department gave a demonstration on the different fingerprint powders available, which ones to use on certain surfaces, and the correct way to lift the developed prints.Chief Spawn is a nationally recognized expert witness in fingerprint identification, has written an article on developing fingerprints affected by fire, and was chosen national Officer of the Month for June 2002 by the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund. Here, shown above, Chief Spawn is placing a developed print on the back of a fingerprint card. He explained that at least 12 points in a print is needed for an identification.During and after the demonstration, Chief Spawn very graciously answered our numerous questions. We discussed poroskopy, how he became interested in fingerprinting, and many other things. At the close of the meeting, we presented Chief Mark Spawn with a certificate of appreciation from the Canfield Detective Agency.

Sounds like you all had a lot of fun! I am sure your special guest enjoyed his visit too.
We would love a visit from the Canfield Detective Agency along with their parents real soon!! Okay?! :)
Oh, and we don't want to be fingerprinted or spied on in the process! We are very good children who obey laws.
Yours Sincerely,
Susan
